Harrison Returns to Tallahassee - Unseats Democrat Incumbent Mark Danish

Candidates in the New Tampa District 63 State House race, who had faced each other previously, switched seats once again Tuesday with former State Rep. Shawn Harrison reclaiming his spot in Tallahassee.

Harrison beat one-term Democratic incumbent Mark Danish for the seat that represents about 160,000 people in New Tampa, University of South Florida area, Carrollwood and Lutz.

“What happened tonight was people voted for effective, bipartisan representation... someone who can work across the aisle, somebody with a record of proven results and somebody people of the community can be proud of,” Harrison said.
