Harrison Meets Petition Goal Ahead of all Opponents
Former State Rep. Shawn Harrison became the first candidate in the House District 63 race to qualify to be on November’s ballot through signed petitions.Harrison’s goal was to assemble enough community voter signatures for eligibility by the start of the 2014 session, which began yesterday.
In an email to supporters, Harrison — who once again faces Democrat Rep. Mark Danish — thanked supporters and volunteers for “picking up the last petition cards needed.” First elected to the House in 2010, Harrison served only one term, losing to Danish in 2012.
